"The Great Big Greenhouse" has been a household term in and around Richmond for the last 34 years. It has grown and flourished until 2010 when the business owners decided to retire, and sell The Great Big Greenhouse!
Enter Meadows Farms Nursery, a household word in yet another neck of the woods. Family-owned and operated by Farmer and Betty Meadows, and with son Jay now at the helm, we are celebrating our business' 50th Anniversary. Meadows Farms had considered expanding into the Richmond market on and off over the years and was eager to make the purchase.
Since July 1, we've put 84 years of experience to work combining the best of both garden centers into The Great Big Greenhouse and Meadows Farms Nurseries. Though we're still a work in progress, the transition is almost complete!
We've installed a new state-of-the-art irrigation system to keep everything looking good! We're receiving fresh stock daily, presenting you with the best value in trees, shrubs, perennials, tropicals, annuals, garden gifts and home decor. The Greenhouse staff will continue to provide knowledgeable advice from seasoned horticultural experts whom you've come to depend on. Stop by this week for fresh perennials, Fall vegetables and mums!
